Participants are called to ruck in the footpaths of local pioneers and legends long before. The SKR offers 3 distance options, each with mixed terrain and offering their own unique path to follow. The Mission

The SKR serves as a self-building and community building event. The aim of the event is to benefit the amazing work of Warrior Ridge. a local 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides life-changing support to veterans in need. The event also aims to honor the pioneers and indigenous people of the region.

How did the Simon Kenton Ruck start?

Sheriff Ryan Swolsky of Mason County and Anthony Chamblin founder of Real&True share
an enthusiasm for developing mental and physical toughness. The ruck began as a means
to do something that supports great causes like Warrior Ridge and brings people together
that value determination and resilience.

Is this an individual or team event?

You can decide. Teams and groups are more than welcome to form. Go it alone or with
friends and colleagues. You’re bound to make some new friends during the event.

How much is registration?

Registration is $40 and includes a t-shirt and a patch. To guarantee your t-shirt and patch,
register by 08.31.24. All proceeds go towards Warrior Ridge.

Do you offer a military or first responder discount?

Active duty, Veteran and first responder registrations receive 50% off.

Do you need to carry weight?

Carrying weight is optional for the Tecumseh ruck. If you are participating in the Warrior or
the Gauntlet, we recommend you carry at least 20% of your bodyweight in a rucksack,
backpack, or weighted vest.

How much should I carry?

If you do not have experience hiking with weight, participants are encouraged to start with
only 10 – 15 LBS in our Tecumseh Route. Experienced ruckers will generally carry around 40
LBS of weight. Weight should be carried in a backpack, ruck sack, or weighted vest. It may
also be carried in a sandbag, as dumbbells, or any other creative fashion. A great resource

What should I wear?

You are encouraged to wear comfortable hiking or fitness attire. The ruck paths do follow a
mixed terrain but consist mostly of pavement.

Do I need to bring anything else with me?

Participants should keep with them some form of hydration throughout the duration of the
event.
